As I have said before, I am always amazed at what I see on my walks around the island. A couple out walking parrots was a first. The birds seemed to be loving it, taking everything in as I followed them. Walking this past week has been challenging due to tropical storm Eta with its winds and rains. High winds yesterday and rain....today we are back to more normal weather....sunny and just an occasional quick shower.
Following up on my blog post on visiting the Hemingway Home last week, we have been watching old movies based on Hemingway's books....For Whom the Bell Tolls (1943), The Snows of Kilimanjaro (1952), The Killers (1946) and To Have and Have Not (1944). These movies featured stars such as Gary Cooper, Eva Gardner, Gregory Peck, Ingrid Bergman, Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart. All were in "technicolor", had subtitles and some great scenery. It's kind of nice to watch movies without all the special effects, animation and wildly unbelievable scenes. Hemingway's books were based on much of his life's experience and adventures and the movies clearly reflect a different time and perspective on the world.
😎
Bet you felt 'right chipper' after those Hemingway-based movies... 😳
