Short day today. Started early to beat the heat and stopped at 12:30 pm after 70 miles. Southeastern Kansas is farm country, cattle country and more woods than I could have ever imagined. And...It's HOT and HUMID!!! Not sure I fully appreciated how hot it would be in August when I decided to leave on August 1st. Possibly this coming weekend will bring some cooler temps. I will be heading across Southern Missouri tomorrow and probably into the inland path of the hurricane. In Pittsburg Kansas tonight, home of the Pittsburg State Gorillas....a perennial powerhouse in sports especially Division 2 football.
I've been thinking about you and the hurricane(s). Worried about you. Please make wise choices. :-)
