After much discussion and arguing with Bob, I finally acquiesced and we decided to take the afternoon off in Pueblo Colorado. So...only 50 miles today making the transition from mountains to arid desert plains. Warm and much to my surprise, the ride started with a fairly challenging climb. Not much scenery. In the middle of nowhere near Florence Colorado sets a fairly new Federal Correctional facility. First time I have every seen a "hemp" field...interestingly there were two workers in the field using old fashioned hoes to work the soil...brings back memories of our garden on the farm when I was a kid. Will have to alter the timing of my ride schedule as I head into Eastern Colorado and Kansas as the 10 day forecast is in the high 90's to 100. Found a great bike shop to get my bike tuned up.
